looking for crafty people

I am not the only person who can make stuffed toys from children’s drawings.  There are other capable crafters out there.   Come out you guys: don’t be shy.  Come and join this site.  Let’s turn this into a real movement.

  1. SHARK TANK! Have you heard of the show? This fits the bill, perfectly! Huge interest, investors out there that would back you! I think this could become a real business!! :0) Very cute!

  2. well … I am sure after Pinterest hit you this will be big in future!
Good luck to your business and a good hand on your business-partners.

For I cannot sew I really just came to wish you all luck – to hope for the future when I have kids that grow into a drawing-age I can make them happy with such a toy.

    Congrats on this brilliant idea!

  3. Congratulations on the success of your business and I hope you fnd the balance you are seeking. And no, I don’t want to work with you but I will make one softie for my daughter. (in Ontario)

  4. Don’t double your prices! That would shut out too many children who would benefit from these! I can’t sew my way out of a paperbag ;o) but hope you find the helpers you are looking for!

  5. So! My sincerest apologies, I totally pinned your site before reading this “please keep it on the hush, hush” part!!! 😦 And then I got an email from pinterest saying it got like 20 repins in 5 minutes. You are SO popular! My only thought/suggestion is when people send an email, have an autoreply that explains your situation with wait time, etc. Waiting list, maybe? OOoof! You are amazing, I will pray that you get a smooth system under your feet and that you don’t have worry/anxiety over your booming buiz. Blessings to you! I have fwd your plea for help to my best sewing friends! Maybe you will hear from some of them.

  6. Oh this is just the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! I hope so much that you find the talented helpers you need to keep this going!! I’m sitting on my hands so I won’t pin or forward this to friends until you’re ready to take on more!!

  8. My 7 year-old has put in an drawing-order for 10 impossibly tiny baby bunnies and a stuffed nest to put them in. Oy!! I think I am going to have to learn how to do this, cuz it is “ALL she EVER wanted for her birthday” 😦

  9. I just emailed you Wendy about me wanting to help…I love to sew..and I use to be a pre-k teachers…so I loved making the kids feel special about their wonderful drawings..such a great idea! How can we be apart of this? would you send clients or would we join your site as other crafty people?
    thanks,

  10. I am a psychotherapist in the Spokane, Wa and Coeur d’Alene, ID area and I utilize this as part of my therapy with children. The approach I use is called Narrative Therapy and basically I take a “Problem” and make is separate from the person. They can then use all their Superpowers to defeat the Problem. Just this week I helped a little girl who has anxiety with creating her own SuperStuffed Animal to help her defeat Anxiety. Thank you for listening and translating a child’s imagination in such a beautiful way.

  11. Your stuff is absolutely adorable. A genius idea. I say don’t worry about all of the orders you have stacked up or you’ll stop enjoying it. You just go at your own speed…and whatever your prices may be, double them. Your work is worth it.

    • just looked at your prices…absolutely double them! you are doing custom work here! this is something that i can’t do for my child and i would definitely pay $200 for your work.

    • I completely agree….double your prices…I would easily pay $200 without a second thought, and I know TONS of people who would too!

    • Definitely double your prices. What you do is magical, special, amazing! It is one-of-a-kind ART. You can always deviate from your price whenever you want to.

  12. (Hope you don’t get this twice… screen said that my comment was awaiting moderation… I’m not sure what that means… so I’m sending again). Hi Wendy, I sent you a regular email too. • I’m handy and crafty and childish in a good way. I’m also in Western Massachusetts, but that shouldn’t matter. I would love to learn more.

  13. I would love to make these toys! I am in Chicago. How would that work out?

Btw, I LOVE this! I wish that I had someone like you around when my girls were little. I would have never thought of this myself.
